Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat)

Lucky is a great dog. He is a dog that needs boundaries and doesn’t do well living on 10 acres of land. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and someone who is active and will spend a lot of time with him. He is incredible with our kids (they literally pile on top of him), he’s great with other dogs and would probably do best with another dog to play with. He is also good with our chickens and our cat. 

He came to us a really fearful dog and we have worked through most of his issues, however he is still reserved around strangers when they come to the house although he warms up quickly. He still guards his food and bones and we feed him separately from our other dog, and he does fine.

Lucky has worked with a professional dog trainer for a year and has his basic obedience skills down pat. He walks beautifully on a leash and is crate and house trained. He wants nothing more than to be around people and is a loving and smart dog. He doesn’t do well roaming around our property off the leash.
